Latham & Watkins has brought on Marco Caffuzzi as a partner in its New York office, strengthening the firm's already prominent real estate practice. Caffuzzi arrives from Greenberg Traurig, where he spent over 15 years and served as co-chair of the global real estate practice.
With nearly 30 years of experience, Caffuzzi focuses on high-profile and complex real estate transactions across both domestic and international markets. His work spans acquisitions, dispositions, joint ventures, financings, and restructurings for institutional investors, private equity funds, and public companies. He has advised on some of the largest and most intricate property deals in recent years, including major office tower sales, hotel portfolio acquisitions, and large-scale development projects.
The move signals Latham's continued push to deepen its bench in core transactional areas. The firm's real estate group has been actively recruiting top talent across multiple offices, with a focus on handling cross-border work and complex capital markets matters. Caffuzzi's arrival adds significant depth to the New York team, particularly in advising clients on distressed assets and structured finance.
His practice also includes a strong emphasis on cross-border investments, helping foreign investors navigate U.S. real estate markets. This expertise aligns with Latham's global platform, which serves clients in Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. The firm expects Caffuzzi to play a key role in expanding its work with sovereign wealth funds and international pension funds.
Caffuzzi said he was drawn to Latham's collaborative culture and its ability to handle the most sophisticated transactions across multiple jurisdictions. He noted that the firm's integrated approach allows him to deliver seamless advice to clients facing increasingly complex regulatory and market conditions.
